This tour takes in all the best-known Mozambique hotspots - including Panda,(Olive-headed Weaver), Unguane (Green Tinkerbird), Mount Gorongosa, Rio Savane, Mphingwe and the Zambezi basin, and the Bvumba Mountains in Zimbabwe. The winter months are a surprisingly good time to visit Mozambique and the highlands of Eastern Zimbabwe. Most resident species are relatively easy to see and relatively cool days and active birdlife combined with "winter" rains often produces spectacular shows. Winter migrants include Short-tailed Pipit, Mascarene Martin and Malagasy Pond-Heron. We have included a pelagic off barra peninsula as well. The coastal floodplains are often surprisingly good in the winter months, and the trip also includes the Bohm's Bee-eater site at Sena. Request more information on the Mozambique Winter Classic, 2018
