Pretoriabirds e-group - an e-mail group especially for birders interested in the birds of the Pretoria area.

A new e-mail list has been created to service the needs of Pretoria-based birders. It is not limited to BirdLife Northern Gauteng members or even to people living in the Pretoria area, but will be used from time to time for short-notice announcements of BLNG activities. However, it is mainly for the benefit of the users. The aims of the list are as follows:

1. To facilitate the free interchange of any non-commercial form of information of interest to birders in the greater Pretoria area. This would include unusual sightings, locality reports, requests for information, debates on topics of interest, notices of upcoming events, and other news items.
2. To serve as a rapid communication channel between the BLNG committee and members
3. To build a spirit of camaraderie amongst the birding community in the greater Pretoria area

The list is not moderated. It is advertisement-supported, meaning that a discrete commercial message is included at the bottom of each posting. The group policy is private, meaning that only members of the group may post messages. This will avoid most "spam" problems

To subscribe, send a BLANK e-mail message with no subject to pretoriabirds-subscribe@egroups.com. You will receive two requests for confirmation of your subscription request, one from the eGroups.com system and one from me, requesting your personal information.

The group address is pretoriabirds@egroups.com. Sending an e-mail message to this address will distribute it to all group members by e-mail and on the eGroups.com Web site.
