If you have any queries about outings or camps, please contact the relevant leader. For queries about evening meetings or courses, please contact Jeanette Rens at 804-7456. Jeanette is also available if you are unable to contact the leader of a camp or outing. We are always on the lookout for new venues for outings and speakers for evening meetings; contact Andrč Marx at (011) 465-5387 with suggestions.

Evening meetings start at 19:00 and are held in the tea room at the Transvaal Museum, Paul Kruger Street. Parking is available on the museum grounds through the Minnaar Street entrance where a security guard is on duty.

Morning outings end before lunch, usually by 11:00. Day outings usually last until after lunch, weather and bird numbers permitting. Braai fires are only permitted where indicated; make your own provisions for firewood or charcoal. Please do not enter venues without the leader; wait for the leader to inform everybody of the arrangements for the outing. No pets are allowed.

For weekend camps, contact the leaders for details and bookings. If full or partial payment is required to secure a booking, such payment is not refundable on cancellation. You may, however, arrange for someone to go in your place, but only if there is no waiting list.

All outings and camps are suitable for beginners who want to develop field experience. Leaders and other experienced members will assist with the identification of birds.

Our directions are as accurate as possible. If you are unfamiliar with an area, please consult a map or contact the leader. Total distances are approximate and are given from the N1-N4 interchange unless otherwise indicated.
