Southern Africa

Indicator Birding runs regular birding trips to different parts of the Southern African Region.

Our most regular destination is Central and Southern Mozambique. Central Mozambique is renowned for vast tracts of Miombo Woodland, remaining areas of Lowland forest, complimented by diverse wetland and coastal birding and the Gorongosa Massif, which provides for an isolated population of the Green-headed Oriole. To read more about Mozambique and birding in Southern and Central Mozambique visit our Mozambique Resources here.

We also visit Namibia, particularly the northern part of the Country and the Caprivi Strip. regular trips are run to Botswana and Zimbabwe. , and Lesotho and Swaziland are often the focus of both scheduled and custom itineraries. To see an example of the sort of trip we offer visit this trip outline here.

The Southern African birding region is the focus of birding for many birders who live in South Africa. The Southern African List Club (700 Club) is hosted at Zestforbirds.
