19. THULASIHLEKA PAN

Pass the turn off to the Richards Bay Boardwalk complex and turn right at the next robot. Continue over the canal for about one and a half kilometers until you see a line of cement poles (which used to support a fence) to your right. Turn right along a dirt road next to the poles and proceed for approximately one and a half kilometers. Take the side tracks leading down to the Pan. Here you could be rewarded by seeing Baillon's Crake, African and Lesser Jacanas, Pygmy Goose, Brown-throated Weaver and Red-winged Pratincole. In summer, look for Blue-cheeked Bee-eater.
