During the summit, short day trips are on offer for those with a little time to spare in this part of the world. These trips are aimed to maximise your birding experience, and there are four different one-day tours on offer:

One Day Tours

• Day Bushveld (1) This takes in Pienaarsrivier and the Seringveld, as well as some other localities in North-eastern Gauteng.
• Day Bushveld (2) This tour goes to the west, and includes Vaalkop Dam and Borakolalo reserves, the latter which usually provides some good mammals as well.
• Day Highveld and Wetlands (1) Marievale and Suikerbosrand reserves. These two well-known reserves offer a good range of endemics.
• Day Highveld and Wetlands (2) Relatively less-well known highveld to the east of Pretoria, and wetlands in the Bapsfontein and Cullinan area. This tour finishes off in bushveld around cullinan.

• Two day Gauteng Twitchers tour This tour covers Marievale, Suikerbosrand, and the wonderfully diverse woodlands north of Pretoria. There will be a number of stops along the way, and this tour will be run with a big total in mind.
• Two day Gauteng Leisure Birders tour This tour covers a similar route to the above, but will be done with a focus on the experience of seeing good birds well, rather than building a big list.
