Shorter Johannesburg-Pretoria Itineraries |
Eastern Endemics Circuit | 3-7 days | This itinerary includes the pristine Steenkampsberg Highlands, Afro-temperate forests on the Mpumalanga escarpment and Arid woodlands north of Pretoria. Johannesburg region | 3-6 days | Johannesburg and it's neighboring city, Pretoria lie close to the transition between highveld grassland, and warmer woodlands. With a variety of wetlands and diverse geology, this area offers 430 species within an hour of the cities, including some 70 regional endemics. Tours are offered from 2 - 6 days. Expectations for a 4 day tour are 190 - 290 species in summer (50-60 Southern African endemics)

Eastern South Africa | 14 days | Eastern South Africa offers a great diversity of habitats, all of which can be accessed at very "birder-friendly" destinations. 400 species are achievable in two weeks, which will include over 70 regional endemics (species only occurring in Southern Africa)
Our standard 2-week tour of Southern Africa, takes in the sub-tropical Zululand coastal plain, the high Drakensburg Mountains, pristine highland grassland, a sample of arid northwestern woodlands and afro-temperate forests. We will also visit mammal-rich savannahs.

Eastern South Africa + Kruger | 18 days | The 18 day includes itinerary the World-renowned Kruger National Park, the most popular wilderness destination in Africa - for big mammals and more birds not found on the 14 day itinerary. The Classic Northern Circuit | 14 days | The northern part of Eastern South Africa. This area holds a staggering diversity of birds, mostly representative of African avifauna further north. The tour includes diversity-rich north-west woodlands, the superb Magoebaskloof Forests, the Soutpansberg mountains and the Pafuri region of the Kruger National Park. It ends in the endemic rich highlands around Dullstroom.
400 species can be expected, includng 60 species restricted to the Southern African region.

Kruger + endemics ex Johannesburg | 7-12 days | This tour combines the world-renowned Kruger National Park, with the incredible diversity of the Mpumalanga escarpment, and Steenkampsberg highlands. In addition we also spend a day each in a pristine and endemic-rich highveld wilderness, and one of the most diverse birding biomes anywhere: the north-west arid woodlands, with it's glut of regional specialties.
Expectations for the week-long trip are 320 species with 50 regional endemics.

Kruger National Park | 4-7 days | For birders with a keen interest in all wildlife, this is a wonderful african experience. Shorter tours concentrate on the parks Southern Region, which has lots of birds and big game. The longer versions visit the central region - best for big cats, and providing additional opportunities to see some of the more spectacular large birds of the park, such as Southern Ground Hornbil, Kori Bustard and Secretarybird. Dinokeng, Limpopo and Kruger National Park | 6 days | A focus on the northern part of the Kruger National Park - which offers perhaps the highest bird diversity is the focus of this short tour.
