Birding and Tour News:Grey Wagtail present at Magoebaskloof. While on a trip to the Magoebaskloof area on 28 January 2004 - we had the opportunity to see the Grey Wagtail which has been present at Debegeni Waterfall, in the Magoebaskloof area. The bird was easily found just below the Debegeni Waterfall (near the wooden bridge to the picnic site) and seemed to be keen to return to this area of the river. It was fairly tame and has characteristic dark back, yellow breast, belly and undertail, and a long tail with a very quick and persistent wagging action, which makes for difficult photography. Nevertherless we were able to obtain some acceptable digital shots by digiscoping, some of which are shown on this page - click the thumbnails for larger images. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On the same trip we visited one of two local Bat Hawk sites and observed a juvenile Bat Hawk doing some sunbathing on an open branch.
